Lesly Federici asked me the other day to write a post on why I prefer affiliate sales over any other kind of marketing online, so here goes.
I started out on eBay in the year 2000 but after about three years of dealing with the auctions, packing and sending of physical products that I decided to move on to something else. This was before SOS – Has It Gotten Hold Of You Yet?Like most everyone else, I came across the “next best Shiny Object Syndrome” and I just knew it was going to work out. No problems in the future, this is what I will have as my online business; final decision made and moving forward. After a few months of the hype of that program, talking with hundreds of people who were interested and wanted to make a change in their lives too, I signed up, I believe 60+ people that the majority of them did absolutely nothing in terms of building their own team. Most just wanted to sign up, sit back, wait for spillover, collect their money and go on with their new life. NOT… It doesn’t work that way. So, I was off to another program. There were a group of us, about 5 or 6 at that time, I think that stayed together and vowed to make the next program work, no matter what. Again, same thing; we signed up people and nothing happened. I do have to say there were some who put 110% into making the program work but in a matrix type program; all have to want the same thing and be willing to work for it and do it continuously. After quite a long time of “program hopping” I decided to try affiliate sales. I had been involved in affiliate sales all along and had been making sales but the “SOS” kept pulling me along every few weeks or so to some where else. Lots of lost money down the road but plenty of education on all kinds of internet marketing, I decided that affiliate sales was the only thing that made sense. If you cannot make money in affiliate sales, then you are absolutely in the wrong internet arena. Note; this post is from my experiences and does not refer to any one program or person.
In affiliate sales, the products and believe me there are an unlimited supply of items that you can sell and earn commission from. Selling physical items from Amazon, Walmart, K-Mart or any of the other retail stores and shops is a perfect business model. You decide on your strategy, get the word out to those who are interested in buying and the products sells itself. Amazon or what ever retailer you are an affiliate of takes care of the ordering details, the shipping and the refunds if needed.
